Pumpkin Picking, Pedicabs and a Petting Zoo, Too! Charlie Brown Ain't Got Nothin' on Us!

Why schlep all the way out to the Hamptons, New Jersey or Staten Island, when you can have a little bit of the country right in your own backyard? For the first time ever, Manhattan is getting its very own pumpkin patch, courtesy of Old Navy. And in the Meatpacking District, no less. The Patch will have pumpkin picking, pumpkin decorating, pedi-cab hayrides and even a petting “zoo”. Expert celebrity pumpkin carver, Hugh McMahon, will be offering demonstrations + feature the most elaborate pumpkin creations to ever hit New York City! Added Bonus: This event will benefit Food Bank for NYC. (Donations are voluntary, but strongly recommended)

Do good. Have fun. Paint a pumpkin. Sounds to me like a good deal all around. Old Navy Urban Pumpkin Patch, Ninth Ave. at Little W. 12th St.; 10/16 - 10/17: F (9–6), S (10–6). Cost: FREE.
